Can I modify the area in the layout ? The dotted box? I want to increase its extents so that I get more area while exporting the file to pdf or anything else.

If you have a title block in the layout set taht to your plot limit and box will change else draw a rectang the size of the sheet and do a plot, apply to layout then cancel it will remember the size. Ours are set up in our DWT best way.

The "dotted box" is showing your printable area.

 

You can change this by going through PAGESETUP, PLOTTERMANAGER, or the PLOT Dialogue and changing the paper size.

 

If the standard paper sizes given are not what you need then you can create a custom paper size.

Or you can modify the printable area for a given paper size.
