Qgcad Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Hopefully I can explain this clearly in hopes of getting a solution. I am trying to plot a section of a drawing, but need the plotting window to rotate to best fit the area I am trying to plot. Preferably in paperspace/viewport type of way. I could rotate the entire drawing but I feel like there is a better way to do this. Image attached. Black showing the rough area of the entire CAD drawing, red showing the approximate area I am trying to plot. Quote
nestly Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Welcome to Cadtutor. My preferred method is to rotate the UCS so it aligns with the intended view, then use PLAN command to align the view with the "Current UCS". You can then decide whether you should leave the UCS rotated in the viewport, or return it to "World" coordinates and leave only the "View" rotated. Alternately, you can use DVIEW> TWist to rotate the viewport, which allows you to use the mouse to rotate the view, or you can specify the rotation angle. Quote
Qgcad Posted June 21, 2014 Author Posted June 21, 2014 Exactly what I am trying to do. I was rotating the UCS but was not using the PLAN command. All is well now. Thanks nestly!! Quote
