Accumulating quantities in my BOM

Hi all

 

I am busy figuring out how to produce a BOM based on our building drawings.

I am able to assign part references, produce part lists and BOM's but am struggling with one thing.

If I for example have 2 different window blocks each with a different quantity of rivets for fitment (Window A requires 8 rivets and Window B requires 12) and need the BOM to reflect a combined total from both windows of 20 rivets, how do I link these 2 together?

My BOM gives me 2 rows, 1 with a quantity of 8 and another with 12. I have made sure the descriptions are identical and also gave them the same part number, but this doesn't seem to be working.

Any idea where I am going wrong?
