Gaz_J Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Hi all. I'm very new to AutoCAD and have never worked with it before. I am an IT apprentice for a company using AutoCAD 2008. I have a user that is having problems with their AutoCAD. Everytime they try and enter a profile an error comes up saying 'Command: _sBlockInsert Unknown command "SBLOCKINSERT". Press F1 for help.' Does anyone know what the fix for this is? Thanks for your help everyone =) Quote
rkmcswain Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 There is no such built in command. Sounds like this may be a custom defined command and the files that contains this code has not been loaded. What exactly do you mean by "Everytime they try and enter a profile"...? Quote
dbroada Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 certainly an unknown command here too. 2 things. In AutoCAD there is a command shortcut look up file (acad.pgp) and this could be corrupt. It is a text file but you may have several. Have a search for it but remember to look in hidden folders too. What do you mean by "enter a profile"? Is it from the options menu (photo attached). Try creating a new profile and reset it. What happens then? (Export existing profile first) sorry, photo not attached. Quote
Gaz_J Posted December 9, 2008 Author Posted December 9, 2008 Sorry I didnt explain myself very well. As I haven't worked with AutoCAD before it's all very confusing to me. I am normally just lumbered with fixing printers etc... LOL By 'enter a profile' I meant he is typing in a 6 digit code which normally brings up a diagram in AutoCAD. The user told me the 6 digit code he is typing in is our article number. Does that make sense to you lot cause it sure doesn't to me LOL Thanks for your replies everyone. Quote
dbroada Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 without knowing more it is impossible to answer so some assumptions... he has a drawing open and he types his 6 figure code. He now expects something to happen but he is just getting the error message. once he gets to the error message point can you press F2 and copy the output here to give more clues. Quote
Gaz_J Posted December 9, 2008 Author Posted December 9, 2008 Yes he has a drawing open and he types a 6 digit code and normally a small drawing appears. I am getting him to send me the F2 output now. Thanks for your help Dbroada. Is there a thanks button on this site? E2A: This is what came up when he pressed F2 Regenerating model. AutoCAD menu utilities loaded. AutoCAD Architecture menu utilities loaded.LOAD failed: "Schuecad.vlx" Command: Command: Command: _sBlockInsert Unknown command "SBLOCKINSERT". Press F1 for help. Command: 322400 Unknown command "322400". Press F1 for help. Quote
dbroada Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 phew - that's a relief - outside my scope as this could be a direct function of AC Architecture basically a module, Schuecad.vlx, isn't being loaded. That module will define what command 322400 invokes. Now you have to determine why Schuecad.vlx isn't being loaded. Has it been moved/deleted? Are there other machines working/affected? Quote
Gaz_J Posted December 9, 2008 Author Posted December 9, 2008 No other machines have been affected. Do you think best action now would be to go to another users machine and see where schuecad.vlx is located and replicate that on the users pc thats having problems? Thanks again dbroada Quote
dbroada Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 that would be my first approach. If this machine has that file in the same location it may have lost its path information. On one of the "working" machines go to Tools|Options and the Profiles tab. Export a profile from a working machine then import it on the bad machine. Then try again. I'm off home in a minute but I am sure one of the Americans can help you through the next bit. Quote
Gaz_J Posted December 9, 2008 Author Posted December 9, 2008 I too am off home now so I will try this first thing in the morning. Thanks very much dbroada. Wouldnt have known where to start without you LOL life saver Quote
Gaz_J Posted December 10, 2008 Author Posted December 10, 2008 Morning everyone. I'm back again. Not one of them new posters that gets half way through a thread and never comes back LOL I accesed the users computer that is having the problem and also an unaffected user. They both had Schuecad.vlx in the same directory. Everything else looked the same on both machines. They both had the same profiles set up etc.... What would be my next port of call or should I still try exporting a profile of the unaffected user and import it to the affected user? Quote
dbroada Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 check carefully that they all have the same folders in their seach paths. There are 2 groups, Support File Search Path & Working etc. The first is all the folders you ask AutoCAD to search, the other is all of those that AutoCAD can find at start-up. They should be identical in most circumstances. I don't know how/when vlx files get loaded - a search of this forum may reveal more. of course, that may be a red herring but hopefully you will sort it all soon. (Maybe somebody else will join in with better suggestions) Quote
Gaz_J Posted December 10, 2008 Author Posted December 10, 2008 I have just logged onto the users pc as admin and ran autocad and the block inserts fine. I'm going to spend the next few hours going through every setting on the admin account and compare with users account. Also to make sure all the folders in the search paths are the same. Also going to have a serach on here regarding vlx files. Thanks for your help again Quote
dbroada Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 before you do that, just check the user is still locked out. AutoCAD has days when it doesn't want to work. Quote
Gaz_J Posted December 10, 2008 Author Posted December 10, 2008 Yes its still playing up. Boy do I wish it was just having an 'off day'. Would of saved me hours of ball ache LOL As soon as autocad loads it comes up saying: Regenerating model. AutoCAD menu utilities loaded. AutoCAD Architecture menu utilities loaded.LOAD failed: "Schuecad.vlx" Which would have me believe vlx files load upon start up. Time to start searching this forum =) Quote
ReMark Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Have you tried searching on vlxload? See this: http://www.manusoft.com/cgi-bin/NoFrames.pl?referer=http://www.manusoft.com/Resources/ARXTips/Index.stm&header=Header.stm&toc=TOC.stm&main=Main.stm Page down to the section entitled Demand Loading a VLX File. Maybe we have some custom programming going on here. Quote
