designerstuart Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 hi all i have a friend with v2014 and the properties box works, but does not show object data. so when a dimension (for example) is selected, the dimstyle, dim override, all that jazz does not show. layer, colour etc do show as expected. is this something to do with being in 2d wireframe view? i just want it to work like regular 2D autocad! - is this the wrong view? - i think nothing to do with this problem? thank you! Ski_Me Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Your dims show to be on the construction layer could that have something to do with it? I don't put dimensions on my plans so I never have to select them. Maybe try a different object and see what you get. Quote
designerstuart Posted August 6, 2014 Author Posted August 6, 2014 no, not to do with the layer - every object is the same Quote
designerstuart Posted August 6, 2014 Author Posted August 6, 2014 you see at the top of the image - the properties box does not even recognise that it is a dimension.... i have never seen this before? Quote
Ski_Me Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Does this happen with all the drawings or just certain drawings. If you could post the drawing that would help as well. Quote

If you could post the drawing that would help as well. i doubt is is a problem with the drawing (all drawings opened do this) but can post later if required. when i select a line, and change its colour in properties box, all it actually changes is the current colour, not the object colour. it's as if properties box does not recognise selection. rkmcswain Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 See this thread for more info: http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/AutoCAD-2013-2014-2015/Properties-and-selections-in-2014/m-p/3913924/highlight/true#M19029 Summary: this can be caused by registry cleaners and or UNinstalling Autodesk 360 Quote
ketxu Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Right, it happened to me after trying Uninstall Autodesk 360. Reinstall will fix Quote
designerstuart Posted August 18, 2014 Author Posted August 18, 2014 thank you RK that is bang on. Quote
designerstuart Posted August 18, 2014 Author Posted August 18, 2014 just to summarise further - it looks like the AutoACD 360 uninstaller has a bug that wipes out you properties box etc if you uninstall it. so i will have to reinstall AutoCAD to solve this - repair does not fix the problem. i wish i had found this link before - how to install without AutoCAD 360!
