spursnutter Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Whats the best and easiest way to chamfer the end of a cylinder? Quote
ReMark Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 If the cylinder is a solid just use the CHAMFER command. Pay attention to the prompts on the command line as they will be slightly different than what you are used to seeing when working with 2D objects. Quote
spursnutter Posted December 11, 2008 Author Posted December 11, 2008 Of Course. Doh! Having a bad day. Quote
ReMark Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 A momentary brain lapse that another two or three cups of coffee will fix in a hurry. Not to worry, been there...forgot that. It happens. Now that we've set you on the path to CAD correctness get back to work you slacker! Quote
shift1313 Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 when you use the chamfer command you need to select the face on which the chamfer will be(one of them) then just follow the prompts. You can make the chamfer distance different on each face. after you are prompted for the distances you will need to select the edge on that face you wish to locate the chamfer. You can also draw a 3d cross section of your cylinder with the chamfer, and revolve this. Especially usefull if you have multiple chamfers and counterbores. Quote

This turned out to be easy - on the other hand not what I wanted to do primarily - This will help finish my project regardless... good thread --- thanks. Quote
