ArdenHTF Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Sometimes when I am drawing my guide lines (on a layer I've named "Guides"), my guide lines get "in front" of my "object" and I have to select the guides and 'move' them (change the Display Order) to the back. So how do I keep them ALL in the back? I'm thinking that maybe I'm not changing to the 'Guide' layer when I draw them, but they are the correct color, so I'm confused. Arden Quote
dbroada Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 AutoCAD doesn't "layer" like drawing programs, they appear where they want to. You can force their order (under format?) but you can't predefine it. Quote
rgarjr Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Yeah its not like photoshop where the layer on top has all the objects on top of the lower layers. Quote
Lee Mac Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Just go to Tools> Display Order, and change it there. Quote
dbroada Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Just go to Tools> Display Order, and change it there. true, but not what was first asked. Quote
totzky Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Assuming that your object is on a different layer, try turning off the layer guides after you are thru with your guidelines. Then turn it on again. See if it goes at the back of your object. Quote
Lee Mac Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 true, but not what was first asked. Gd point dbroada, i'm not on the ball today - more coffee needed. Quote
dbroada Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 more coffee needed. more coffee is ALWAYS needed. Our machine broke down this morning - we were all pretty twitchy by the time mr. repairman left. Quote
