How can i convert a big file (7mb+) of open polylines to joined/closed polylines?

hi everyone,

 

i have a quite big file with many open polylines (i attached an extract to show an example) and i'd like to join the polylines whenever is possible and close all of them. Is there an easy way ?

basically i want to go (referring to the drawing attached) from "a" to "b"

 

any ideas?

I presume that you have tried Pedit with the Multiple option?

 

First use the Join option and then the Close option. I ended up with 21 polylines, whereas your "b" has 22 polylines.

this feels like a great and easy solution! been waiting for a while on the whole big file, i may try to split it in areas and try again!

If it takes a long time processing, simply select less of them at a time.
