oompa_l Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Hi I am having trouble figuring out how to convert my metric drawing - all 40 of them, actually, all dimensioned and ready to go - to imperial. They are drawn in mm and need to be in inches. I know that insunits will specify that the drawing be converted to a specific unit, and in this case the default 1 suits my purposes. But what I am having trouble with is forcing autocad to see that my metric drawing is drawn as just that, and in mm. anyone have any advice, other than a simple scaling operation that would leave my dimensioning annotation incorrect? thanks! totzky Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Scale the dimensions instead of the object. Override it by 1/25.4. Or, use an alternate dimension. Quote
Dipali Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 have a look at this threads discussion http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?t=30234&highlight=insunits I have tried those seting with linedraiwngs & was able to get it in to alternate units easily but have never tried it with dimension. open a blank drawing with al imerial settings & try bringing in the metric drawin with insert. (the value of insunits in your metric drawing should be 4 & in your imperail drawing should be 1.) you can set this up without opening your metric drawings options>userpreference>.......... (sorry can't remember but it has been mentooned in the thread link above) Quote
