Hi guys,

I'm currently trying to convert layout/paper space drawings to model space (client requirement). I have to take the drawings from paperspace and produce itentical model space drawings. So far I have been using CHSPACE, which works fine for all objects that aren't annotative.

Any object that is annotative vanishes after using CHSPACE. If I make object non-annotative before using CHSPACE - it works.

So my question is... is there a way to disable annotative mode for all objects in a drawing? Including blocks and objects within blocks.

Thanks a lot for any help.

Ps: I am really only learning about annotative objects today, I have never used them in the past, and I have only very basic knowledge about how paperspace/layouts & viewports work. So any other advice that might help for this task would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

Have you tried "Export Layout to Model"?

Right-Click Layout Tab for that option. I don't use annotation much so can't recall how they transfer, but pretty sure they were OK last time I did it.

Other than that, you might try Filters or QSelect.

Hi SLW210,

Awesome, thanks heaps for the tip. Seems to work pretty well. It does mess up the scale of some annotative blocks within blocks, but it is much better than my previous method.

Man, I wish I had asked sooner.

Thanks again.

Turn on the Automatically add current annotation scales button so the objects will assume the scale of the modelspace view as they arrive. At least that way, they will be correct. You can also turn on the button that shows all annotative objects at any scale all the time. Both buttons should be on your task bar. If not, right click the task bar and check Annotative for display. The objects with more than one scale assigned will look like an exploded birds nest with the show all button turned on. At least with one or both of those on, they will stop disappearing.

Thanks for the tip Dana.

A dumb question why would you be drawing objects in a layout in the first place v's model ? Or is it just the dims and title block etc ?

We have some software that creates layouts with details but you can just copy and paste to model.

Hi BigAl,

The dims & title block are in layout, the objects and annotative labels are in model space. The drawings are not my own, my task is merely to reproduce what is in the layouts; in model space.
