Netminder Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 While closing out some assembly drawings and parts to make room on my parts ribbon I was given a "Autodesk Inventor Professional 2013 - ! Encountered an Improper Argument" code. Nothing seems to turn off this error code and no other functions are allowed. I looked the code up in the Ascent textbook that I have but nothing was there. Is there a way around this or do I have to close the program? I am unsure when my last save was and don't want to lose my work. Any ideas? Thanks, Scott Quote
JD Mather Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 This is a serious error. Are you using Projects (*.ipj)? Are you saving locally or to network drive. I would reboot the computer. Save often! You should never be, "...unsure when my last save was". I tell my students, "Every time you do something right - save it." Your file could even be corrupt. The Oldversions might be only recourse. Lesson learned. Quote
Netminder Posted April 2, 2015 Author Posted April 2, 2015 I was working in .ipt and .iam. I've never worked in .ipj. Luckily, when I rebooted I found that I had saved all parts and assemblies. The files are all saved to our network drive. "Save Often!" is the motto that I tell our group regularly but I've been on a 18 hour drawing binge and had lost track. Thanks for the response! JD Mather Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 ... I've never worked in .ipj.Scott If you are not using Vault, I recommend that you learn how to set up Project(s) for your work. It will save you lot's of headaches. Takes less than 60 seconds. Quote
Netminder Posted April 2, 2015 Author Posted April 2, 2015 JD, Sounds exciting. I'll look into it very soon. Thank, again. Scott Quote
