md2512 Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Hello, I'm working on a PF Oleson subdivision project, and am on the dimensioning stage, and cannot get the text to show up on the dimension line. I feel i must have turned something off. Can anyone help with this?? Thanks. Quote
Dadgad Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Welcome to CADTutor. You should open the dimstyle dialog, click on MODIFY and check the color and text height on the TEXT tab. Quote
Dadgad Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 (edited) Thanks, that is awsum. You are welcome, happy to help. During the text style modification, on the TEXT tab, you might want to set your TEXT COLOR to , which means that it will be displayed as either white or black, depending on the color of the background, so as to be visible wherever it is displayed. nestly Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 You might want to set your TEXT COLOR to ... ... object level property overrides make my skin crawl. Just out of curiosity, what's the value of being able to see the Dimension text if you can't see the Dimline, arrows, and extension lines? Quote
Dadgad Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 ... object level property overrides make my skin crawl. I meant to set the text color in the dimstyle manager, not in the properties for the text. I understand where you are coming from nestly, thanks for pointing out the ambiguity of my suggestion! I went back and edited that post. Quote

Just out of curiosity, what's the value of being able to see the Dimension text if you can't see the Dimline, arrows, and extension lines? Good point nestly. My arrows, dimension and extension lines are all red, but clearly one needs to be able to see them as well! I just meant to share the versatility of color 7. Quote
nestly Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Just seems odd to me to assign colors rather than to use the default "ByBlock" so everything honors the Layer color. Quote
