Hsanon Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 There are occasions the Refedit command does not work.... The Acad response is as such : _REFEDIT Errors found in references to other objects: ** Application reference missing: ACAD, to AcDbLinetypeTableRecord. have noticed that it is due to some troublesome dimension leader, and once it is identified and removed, the block can be edited by the refedit command however it is extremely inconvenient to find the troublesome leader and deleting it when it is required........ any suggestions anyone ??? any work around ??? Hsanon Posted April 22, 2015 Author Posted April 22, 2015 responding to my own post, ..... i found similar queries in the forum.... which linked me to the autodesk forum http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-2007-2008-2009/acdblinetypetablerecord-error/td-p/2048107 however it is still inconvenient :-( Quote
steven-g Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Can you post a block with this problem, I can't recreate the problem with standard dim style. It could be a problem with the Autocad version? Quote
RobDraw Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 It sounds like the leader may have been created with a vertical product or a newer version of AC. What is this block and why the concern about inconvenience? Is it something you will have to edit on a regular basis? As steven said, please post a file with the block in it. Quote
Hsanon Posted April 22, 2015 Author Posted April 22, 2015 attaching the troublesome block refedit issues.dwg if your refedit the block we get that acad error message. Quote
Hsanon Posted April 22, 2015 Author Posted April 22, 2015 i was searching the forum earlier, the issue apparently is with the leader. is there a way around by converting the leaders automatically into something else not intrusive ??? thanks Quote
steven-g Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Yep get the error, I have got as far as exploding the block and making a new block with just a single leader that also has the same problem, and then created a new leader with all the same settings and sizes so that every item in the properties palette is exactly the same, and that made into a block works without issue. I then exploded the leaders and the single polyline from each gave the same results (one works one doesn't), then dxf'd out the two elements and the one that causes the problems has extra data attached to it, which is fascinating but unfortunately way over my head. So I would suggest as a workaround use the blockeditor instead of refedit, because the blockeditor works fine. Maybe someone else can figure out the problem. Quote
SLW210 Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Try using FLATTEN, some of the threads mention that, a few have fixed by changing the DIMSTYLE. I would try using -exporttoautocad or aectoacad and see if that repairs the drawing. Quote
RobDraw Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 I would try using -exporttoautocad or aectoacad and see if that repairs the drawing. That would be the solution to my first guess as long they weren't created in a newer version than the OP has. If that is the case, a conversion using Drawing TrueView might be in order. It sounds like the leader may have been created with a vertical product or a newer version of AC. Quote
