Hi all

I've added an automatic updating scale bar to the tool palette. But the field is broken on insertion.

I think I've worked out why - the ObjectID of the viewport (in the field expression) changes each time the scale bar is inserted - hence the field is no longer linked to the viewport.

How can I fix it so that the field stays linked? Is there a way to lock the ObjectID so it doesn't change when inserted?

Just to clarify - I know how to re-link the field...I'm hoping to find a way to make it so that it doesn't get broken when inserted.

Thanks

Paul

Not possible with OOTB AutoCAD, AFAIK, you may be able to reconnect to the VP with LISP, though.

Probably already something out there similar.

Thanks SLW210. I did find a lisp that can reconnect the viewport to a field...but it doesn't work for this case as the field is in a table.

I'll move this thread to the LISP Forum then.
