gcbell114 Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 In every versions of autocad I have used for the past several years, there has always been a 'precision' choice on the right click menu when you have a dimension selected. In 2016 it is missing and I assume it is a setting but I can't find it. I can do this through the properties panel, but that takes longer. Has this just gone away in this version? Quote
Dadgad Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 (edited) Welcome to CADTutor. That is interesting, I had never even noticed that, because I use Quick Properties, and have selected Precision as one of the values to show. Sorry I can't comment on 2016, but as a work around, if needed you could show Quick Properties, or you might prefer just adding that to your dimension objects shortcut menu. I have specified quite a number of customization values to display for my dimensions, but if you wanted you could just have the precision, maybe a couple others if you wanted I love Quick Properties becuse you can customize it to show exactly what you want it to. I have been trying to figure out how hard it would be to add it back to your dimension shortcut menu, and I am rather surprised, as it is a bit more tedious than I had expected it to be. rkent Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 I have 2016 and the Precision choice is still there for me. Go into the CUI, Shortcut Menus, Dimension Objects Menu and see if it is showing there, should be there by default. Quote
gcbell114 Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 Precision is showing there, but not in the shortcut menu when I select a dimension object. I have it showing up in quick properties, but since I was used to it being in the quick menu I would like it there also. Quote
rkent Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 What does show when you right click after selecting a dim? And does it match what is shown in the CUI with the exception of the precision, or is it completely different from the CUI shortcut menu? Quote
gcbell114 Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 Here are the screen shots of both the shortcut menu and what shows in the CUI. I don't really see that they match up. Is there another setting somewhere that controls this? Quote
gcbell114 Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 Okay, I figured it out. 1. I was looking at the wrong shortcut menu. I was looking at the shortcut menu in the ACAD Section rather than in the ACA section. Precision showed up in both, but in the ACA Shortcut Dimension menu, Precision was there but none of the choices was listed under it. When I added them under the Precision menu, that fixed the problem. Thanks for your time and help. Quote
rkent Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 I don't know ACA but I know mechanical uses a special dimension object so if that is true then ACA is not seeing Dimensions but some sort of ACA-Dim and so it pulls up that menu instead. Since it is ACA I won't be able to help any further, hopefully you can find the forum for ACA and ask there. Quote
