B.Alves Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Here's my dilemma: On one DWG, I have an elevation that has certain blocks. In these blocks, i've created a wipeout that is under a letter. These blocks on my elevation are OVER my Building's lines. I, then bring this elevation as an Xref to another DWG, that i will use to make my viewports. On my paperspace I've created 2 different viewports of the same elevation(wich is an Xref). On one viewport, i don't wanna show the blocks i created, and in the other viewport, i wanna show these blocks. The problem is, in the viewport on wich i don't wanna see these blocks, when i freeze the layer on wich my block is defined to, the wipeout still hides the lines of the building... I don't know if this is very clear. Please help! P.S.: this is actually my coworker's problem, he likes to complicate thins. LOL! Quote
MaxwellEdison Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Can you remove the wipeout and use a background mask on the text? Quote
skipsophrenic Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Instead of freezing the whole layer throughout couldn't you just use VPFreeze for that viewport? Quote
B.Alves Posted December 18, 2008 Author Posted December 18, 2008 the background mask was a good idea but in the block i also have a little triangle (symbol that we use to show bearring connexion), that's why my coworker made a wipeout around the text and triangle. As for the VPfreeze, that's what we did, but we can still see the outline of the wipeout above the buildings lines. Quote
MaxwellEdison Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Do you mean the wipeout itself is still there or just the outline. If just the outline try WIPEOUT[enter]F[enter]OFF[enter]. To turn off wipeout frames. Quote
B.Alves Posted December 18, 2008 Author Posted December 18, 2008 The wipeout itself is still there, the frames are off. I'm really sorry, if i'm not beeing clear. Just picture this. I draft precast pannelling. So, on my elevation i draw my precast pannels, and then i insert that connexion block above the lines of my precast. When it comes to printing, those precast lines are interrupted by the wipeout in the block (the text and triangle symbol of my block are frozen because i can't see them, but the wipeout isn't). Quote
smorales02 Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 after you turn off the layer try bringing the xref to the front....Does that work? Quote
