Graham_Woolston Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Hello, I am trying to copy a 3d drawing (one component) into a 2d drawing so as to display it in a kind of ISO version, but solid with no materials.. i have heard about using clipboard but can't figure out how this works. ReMark Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 I would suggest that you switch to paper space and create a viewport instead. A viewport is basically a window that let's the user see objects that were created back in model space. You can then set the viewport to display your 3D model in one of the four standard isometric views. Quote
ReMark Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 An example of a paper space viewport (the magenta colored box) with an isometric view of a 3D model that exists only in model space. Note that viewports can have a scale assigned to them. So, for example, I could show the 3D model in two different viewports each with a different scale. Quote
ReMark Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 (edited) Another example but this time I set up four viewports each showing a different view and all set to utilize the same scale. BTW...the visual style for this example and the previous one is Conceptual. Keep in mind what you are seeing is a series of 2D views of a single 3D object. These are not actual 2D views extracted from the 3D model. That would require the use of different commands and the results would look like 2D wireframes. Understand? Got to run off for a while but I'll check back later. Good luck. Edited May 8, 2015 by ReMark Quote
