cadprog
Hi, I want to create a drawing in memory and then display it as preview, to show the user how the dwg would look. Is it possible? Thanks
ReMark
One of the more oddly worded questions of the day. What do you mean "create a drawing in memory"? Edited June 4, 2015 by ReMark
SEANT
I agree, the original post needs more details to allow for pertinent suggestions.
cadprog
I read a dwg in db using db.ReadDwg(,,,). do some insertion of blocks, then show it as preview. Can this be achieved?
ReMark
Is this what you are asking about? http://spiderinnet1.typepad.com/blog/2013/03/autocad-net-read-dwg-into-memory-using-databasereaddwgfile.html See this too. http://adndevblog.typepad.com/autocad/2012/07/using-readdwgfile-with-net-attachxref-or-objectarx-acdbattachxref.html And finally there is this... http://through-the-interface.typepad.com/through_the_interface/2007/07/accessing-dwg-f.html
cadprog
ReMark, The links helped. But unfortunately, it does not do my work. I understand that any dwg that is not opened will not produce either a thumbnail or an image. Is there any other way please? Thanks
SEANT
A WPF form could host a Canvas that could be programmatically drawn upon - recreating the drawings on the fly. Obviously, that can be labor/processor intensive. Depending on the expected complexity of the drawings, though, it may not be that bad. SEANT
Beginner That's unfortunate. Numerous hours of WPF study is required just to get to a point where a feasibility determination could be made.
