Ski_Me Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 I don't if anybody has noticed this or not but when I go to select an object to edit if I hold down the left mouse button I can free form the selection area and if I just click once then it's the normal selecting box. This is the first time I noticed this feature. It was very weird at first but now I'm used to it. Anybody else noticed this feature? Quote
RobDraw Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 That's the lasso selection. One of the new features. Some people were very excited about it. Quote
RobDraw Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 I'm still on '14. With '16 about to be deployed, I've got two years of new features to explore. TBH, I'm not sure I need another selection method but will give it a try. Quote
Ski_Me Posted June 30, 2015 Author Posted June 30, 2015 I've played with it some really don't see a benefit to using the lasso method in 2d drawings. Needs to be a little more like the photoshop lasso selection tool. Quote
Dana W Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 I think the lasso is primarily for a touch screen. It seems to work pretty well using a fingertip, but I have found it difficult to tell it whether to turn blue or green. Of course, not much else in AutoCad works well in touch mode. Quote
Tiger Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 I have had more than one customer call me in bafflement about what the Lasso is - and one person was so distraught, it disrupted his workflow so much that when I showed him how to turn it off, I even got a thank-you mail afterwards Quote
