GuyBrown Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 hi I've just registered - sorry for asking for help before helping others - i look forward to helping others/giving tips in the future. I hope someone can help - i have a rectangle made by a 3dpolyline located in a random x,y,z coordinate out in space somewhere... i have another rectancle within it (offset within). problem: i change view so that i'm looking at rectangles front on (2d). i then bhatch them (solid red) and 'pick' between them so that the inside rectangle is like a window (not hatched). 'associated' is ticked. when i click on OK it looks fine but when i change view/orbit i realise that autocad has placed the hatch in a different place in space - it looks fine when i look at the rectangles front on but it's like it's placed the hatch out of the monitor towards me (along the z axis or something). question: how do i get it to put the the hatch inside the rectangles (on the same plane)? I've tried changing the UCS to the same plane but that doesn't help... frustraiting... would really appreciate some help... Quote
GuyBrown Posted December 22, 2008 Author Posted December 22, 2008 When I hatch a rectangle the hatch is placed at a different z coordinate than the rectangle. How do you ensure that a hatch stays on the same plane? Quote
ReMark Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 I would suggest the use of the UCS > Origin option and pick a point (intersection) on the rectangle you are hatching. Quote
Cad64 Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 I've merged your two threads. In the future, please don't ask the same question multiple times. You need to keep all pertinent information regarding your problem included in your original thread so everyone can see what the problem is, what you have already tried and they can follow your progress to solution. Also, it's sometimes a good idea to include screenshots or attach the actual file when asking for assistance. Quote
