evox2 Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Hi, I am pretty new to Autocad, hope you guys can help me out. I am trying to print out a drawing with multiple viewport, how do i create a view from a specific point? For example, I can't use the direct front view as it will be blocked by an object in front as I am trying to get the view of the rear object. Hope my question is clear Thanks in advance! Quote
Dadgad Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 (edited) Welcome to CADTutor. There are a number of ways this could be addressed. If the objects in question are on different layers, then you might opt for using VIEWPORT LAYER FREEZE, with which you could effectively turn off the display of certain layers (whence their objects) selectively in a particular viewport only. Each viewport can be configured with its own layer visibility settings. Or you can use the VIEW command to access the dialogues as shown in the screenshot, and you can create an appropriate view in your modelspace, then name and save it. Later you can double click into a paperspace viewport, to activate it, then on your Views toolbar or Panel, select the view name which you just set up, and it will be applied to your active viewport. These are just 2 ways, there are others as well. Edited July 21, 2015 by Dadgad Quote
BIGAL Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Look at the image post above and type Vpoint 1,1,1 or Vpoint 1,0,0 should be rear, the first is a basic 3d view of the object by playing with the x y & z values including 1 or 0 to get a square on approach left right etc. Quote
