Murphy625 Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Well I'm stuck.. I must have inadvertently clicked on something.. When I try to do a simple mirror operation of a cube, all is fine until I try to draw the mirror line.. my cursor crosshairs turn sideways as does the cube icon in the upper right corner of the screen.. and it won't let me draw a horizontal line.. If I move outside the drawing to a blank area, the cross hair returns to normal and I can draw a horizontal mirror line. It just started this behavior.. I tried resetting the view to top and USC to world but no affect. Cleared object snaps, nothing.. What did I do to cause this? Quote
ReMark Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Try UCS > World. Then PLAN > Current. One question. Do you have Dynamic UCS enabled? Quote
Murphy625 Posted August 5, 2015 Author Posted August 5, 2015 UCS WORLD did the trick.. I have no idea how it got screwed up. One thing I do like about this new software is that the USC seems to change with my view when I'm Top Front Side or Bottom.. .I don't have to click extra times to change the view and then change the UCS to follow. In my R14, I used to have to do that and I hated it. I'm creating a new post in the modeling form.. Sure could use your help trying to remove distortion.. See ya there! and thanks for your help (again, and again, and again) lol Quote
Murphy625 Posted August 5, 2015 Author Posted August 5, 2015 USC World did not do the trick.. Look at the screen capture.. My crosshairs are at a weird 45 deg angle.. Like it wants to draw isometric.. If I move the cursor out of the big circle, it works fine.. inside the circle will only let me draw 45 deg angles. What is going on? Quote
Murphy625 Posted August 5, 2015 Author Posted August 5, 2015 Looks like I might have fixed it.. at the bottom left of my screen are a bunch of gray and blue boxes with icons in them.. Ortho on/off and object snap tracking on/off.. it was one of them.. I just turned it all off.. Quote
tzframpton Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 If this is a 3D object, it looks like it's the Dynamic UCS that's enabling when you hover over the "face" of the top object. This can be toggled in the row of application status bar. Quote
ReMark Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Maybe you should brush up on the commands/features that are included with AutoCAD 2012 BEFORE attempting to create 3D drawings including such things as Dynamic UCS, Dynamic Input, Constraints, Polar-Tracking, Object Snap Tracking, etc. Sounds more like you are trying to ride a 1500cc motorcycle after having learned to ride a 150cc Vespa. Best way to learn with some things is to jump right in! I must have inadvertently clicked on the icon accidentally when doing something else. I don't use Dynamic USC or a lot of other features in autocad so I'm not always familiar with everything. You hit it the first time when you mentioned the dynamic USC.. I just didn't know how to turn it on and off. Furthermore, there are so many commands in autocad it would be easier learning Grays Anatomy.. Besides, that's what this forum is for!! And I should also say, your help has helped a lot.. Thank you.. My tank is almost complete.. just a few brackets and boiler ports to add. See image. Quote
Murph_map Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 It's Murphy's law that changed the UCS. Nice tank btw, is it for beer? Quote

Not beer.. Its for a food grade soap.. Stuff that washes veggies and fruits. Get all those nasty pesticides and stuff off them.. Quote
