Good afternoon!,

I am having problems with my A3 sheets printing out as A4s. I have used a sheet template (originally created be somebody else) and put my own titleblock onto it. I have gone into 'page setup manager' and it seems to be set up correctly as an A3 sheet.

I go to print the layout and all seems ok, the paper size showing up as A3 and sheet even previews ok. When it prints to an actual A3 sheet though, the drawing comes out shrunk down to an A4 size plot.

I'm probably missing some autocad setting somewhere, but could it possibly be a printer issue?

Thanks

Can you post a screeshot of your plot layout dialogue box?

That way we could quickly check your settings.

When your plot comes out at A4 size on A3 is it in the middle, in one corner, or rotated to cover half the sheet?

One quick thing to check that I have seen cause this and similar plotting problems -

Make sure that you have 'Save Changes to Layout' selected in the plot dialogue.

If this is not selected then any changes you make in the dialogue can get ignored and you get the same as the previous plot.

Also check your printer settings in control panel, we have problems with a printer and have to set it to the correct tray to pick A3.

Thanks for your suggestions, will check printer settings. It's my bosses printer so will check when I'm back at work in a few days, and also get that screen shot of plot set up. If it's any help towards a solution Nukecad, the A4 plots always come out on the bottom left of the A3 sheet!

Yes- that tells us that the printer is selecting the correct paper size and drawer, and plotting with the origin at 0,0 (bottom left) without rotating the plot.

So it would seem that the problem is something to do with how the plot is being scaled.

Or maybe this template that was 'created by someone else' is not actualy A3 sized?

As a start check that the template/titleblock is actualy A3 - 420 x 297 mm

Do you have your ploting scale set at 1:1?

If so then try setting it as 'Scaled to Fit', that should fill your A3 paper even if the template is not A3.

(Don't forget the 'Save Changes to Layout').

Like Nukecad our sheets are A1 so we plot at at 1:2 for A3, ours is 804x554

Just to make sure of this - it hasn't been mentioned yet.

Are you plotting from Paperspace (Layout) with your titleblock in paperspace or from Modelspace with your titleblock in modelspace?
