einsteinwaswrong Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 I have been using Civil 3D for 2 weeks now, and have managed to create some design X sections with associated profiles, assemblies etc, but am struggling to get the X sections looking how I want. I am trying to acheive the following: 1. Offsets & Levels for the design, but with weeding to not display all the points on the drain sub assembly. 2. Offsets & Levels for existing surface, with the offsets being the same as those for the design. 3. Labels in % format for the pavement, & rise:run format for the batters, no labels on other segments, all done automatically as I have 200 X sections. 4. Levels & Lines plotted for Subgrade on the section. I have experimented with the weeding factor in the Band Style Dialog, but it seems not to make any difference, whatever value I set. I can get offsets & levels for the existing surface, but the levels are at the change of grade in the existing surface - is there any way to have levels on the existing surface at the design grade changes? I can see how to use the menu command to label an individual segment of a section - is there a way to do this for all the sections, but for only some of the segments ie pavement & batters, in different formats (%, rise:run) ? For the subgrade, I suspect that I will have to edit the codes tab in the assembly. If so, I need some help with that this early in my Civil 3D experience. I am using the 2008 Australian Template setup. I am really impressed with 3D civil - it is way better than any thing else I have used & I can see myself using it quite a bit. Hope everyone has a great Xmas & look fwd to some replies by the new year !! (maybe I'm not the only one working at this time of year !!) Cheers David Saunders Quote
rustysilo Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Perhaps you should post a screen grab of your assembly, or an x-section as it is now. Quote
BIGAL Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Do you have ARD? it will do what you want and lots more unfortunately civil 3d out of the box is no where near other australian software in terms of functionality despite what you have said about the software particuarly if you are doing road works. Yes there is a cost Quote
