Hi Guys,

New to the forum and after some help if anybody has any ideas.

I am no CAD expert and can at best work around a PC.

I have been using CAD 2010 for the last few years with no issues. At times I need to create PLT files so I can get panels silk screened for artworks. The raw file is generated in CAD 2002. This is simply because the chap that creates the files is not good with change and is happy with using CAD 2002 and no need to update.

Recently both his and my computers have been updated for Windows 7 and 64 bit versions. I was was previously using 32 bit OS and XP.

For some reason when I now create a PLT file from either machine my PLT files have gone a little odd. The text becomes sort of smudged as if there are lots more lines being created. I have been told by our screener that the files I am now sending him are HPGL2 and no longer HPGL. Not sure if this is relevant or not.

I have tried using several different plotters 7580B . 7585B to list a couple. They all do the same. Have tried a selection of the HP plotters and they all do the same.

The file sizes have also increased by nearly three so clearly something is different.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated :)

Hi ReMark.

Do you mean as the files are now HPGL that these would be bigger than HPGL-2 ?

7475A plotter used to do the HPGL, IIRCC, I'm not sure if 64-bit is going to have the drivers though.

Might be a program out there, but I would see what other file types your screener can use.
