Question regarding the Deter tool.

So I'm in the process of converting my drawing into one block that cannot be exploded (well it can, but it will take time and much effort). But I ran into a problem, for some reason when I DETER a drawing containing an OLE, the OLE disappears.

How can I prevent this from happening? Do I need to do something fist to prevent this from happening?

If anyone can help me out here, I would appreciate it very much Thanks!

Thanks for the reply Squirltech, I do appreciate it. It doesn't really tackle the issue I'm dealing with but I did see another option I can use that "CADLOCK". So really do appreciate it

IMHO, you're wasting your time. It's the design that needs protecting. CAD work can be duplicated very easily.

Why do you feel the need to do this?

Yeah I hear you RobDraw... It's my Boss who is requesting this  I figured that having the customer sign contracts that our drawings are not to be duplicated or manipulated would be enough, but noooooooo. LOL

it's cool though, it's not like I'm not getting paid to research and figure this out. so not complete waste of my time, ya dig? ;) I do appreciate your reply.

oh snap! I figured it out! if I just make a regular block of all the OLEs in my drawing... then after that use the DETER tool, I can make it all to one block without anything disappearing on me. :D

That is by far the best response I've ever heard regarding this topic.

As to your question, maybe the tool wasn't designed to handle OLE objects. Can you "lock" everything except for the OLE?

Edit: Glad you got it sorted.

Once I converted all OLEs into regular block, I was then able to "lock" everything without having the OLE objects disappear on me.
