AutoCAD 2009 takes a long time to save/open single drawings?

When I open/close a single drawing AutoCAD 2009 takes a long time.

When a multiple drawings loaded in CAD it does not take so long

to close a drawings until CAD is left with a single drawing. At that time

it takes a long time to save it.

Does anyone have this problem. Is there a solution other than keeping

a second open all the time.

Thank You

don't have this problem; don't use 2009!!!

But.....do you have all the service packs?

It happening a work computer which uses 2009 so I don't have any

control on what version I use. They have updated with service packs

but I don't know which ones. Just looking for an answer why it would be doing that.

I don't like running AutoCAD with two drawings when I am only working

on one.

Thank you,

Look in the Useful Links forum for a thread I put in a short while ago. It's called Open Close Save Hotfix for AutoCAD 2009. Perhaps it might be of some use to you.

I used to have that problem when I had Vista installed, it would hang when you close the program. Now I have XP PRO and dont have that problem.

I have 09 installed on my vista machine, and it does not have that problem. I suggest the patches and then see if it is still doing it.

I also have 09 on Vista and mine only hangs for 5-6 seconds before it closes.

Used the '07 Hotfix from AutoDesk. Before the fix, took a long time

to close *.dwg files.
