Make object impenetrable

is it possible to make the surface of a solid unable to be "penetrated" by another solid, without applying any other type of constraint? I just want to test how the two objects will interact with each other, as they both have odd shapes.

Research Contact Sets.

Right click on parts involved in the browser and select Contact Set.

Manage>Activate Contact Solver.

Drag the parts.
