How can i change the Backspace button's function into another button

Hi all,

 

Each time i need to edit a text, i always have to tap the Backspace button. This button is pretty far from my left hand(when my right hand is holding the mouse), so i wonder if anyone knows how to copy it's function into another button, for example the button " ~` ", which is next to button "1", as far as i know it's pretty useless.

As long as your right hand is on the mouse anyway why not just drag the curser to select the space and start typing? \U+08 will enter the ASCII for backspace you could probably create a Shortcut Key for it in the CUI under Keyboard Shortcuts.

That's what I do when editing text. I rarely ever use backspace.

Perhaps you could do a Google search on "remap backspace key"

If you have a mouse with more than the standard buttons it would be easy to just map one of the extra buttons to backspace.
