Should be a very simple tool to use. Did you make this part in Sheetmetal? I have a feeling the edge is not square? Can you post the model for me to look at?

how did you make the solid?

did you extrude it, or use the face command?

yes, i make the sheet metal piece from sheet metal environment not .IPT file.

I drew the rectangle on sheet metal and extruded the face. is that the wrong way to do?

from what I have been shown, it seems to be best if you set up your sheet metal defaults and use the face command, instead of extruding.

That is not what I see.

What I see is that you used a tool that is not in the Sheet Metal tools.

What I see is that your file is .IPT (which it should be).

Your Extrusion thickness does not match your Sheet Metal Thickness.

I recommend that you use ONLY the Sheet Metal tools to create sheet metal parts until you get more experience.

Also, I recommend that you download and install the Service Packs and Updates for your version of Inventor.
