Hello world.

I don't know anything about Dynamic Blocks but I was trying to learn the other day. In doing so, I opened the Block Authoring Palette but ever since then, every time I open my Block Editor, the palette is floating there in my way. I can close the palette, but every time I open the Block Editor, it's there again...

Any ideas?

To show or hide the Block Authoring palettes in the Block Editor

  1. Click Insert tab ac.menuaro.gif Block panel ac.menuaro.gif Block Editor. bedit_32.png
  2. In the Edit Block Definition dialog box, Under Block To Create or Edit, select a name from the list and then, click OK.
  3. Click Block Editor tab ac.menuaro.gif Manage panel ac.menuaro.gif Authoring Palettes. authoring_palettes_32.png

Thanks ReMark.

I'm on 2012, so mine is a bit different, but from within the Block Editor, I have that same icon that was the final one you said to click... It makes the palette go away but it's there again the next time. Screenshot below:

I guess it was pretty hard to see in the first shot, maybe this is better:

If it is in your way why not enable the Auto-Hide option? It will be there if you need it but unobtrusive in the meantime. You could even set Transparency to 10% so it will be barely visible.

Only some of my blocks have this show up. My guess is that there is something within the block definition that is causing it to pop up.

I guess I can do that, just kind of weird that it won't go away. Mehhh, probably better to not worry about it too much

You can make it go away permanently by deleting the four palettes from the CUI. In my opinion that is not a good idea but hardly anyone follows my advice so go for it:shock:. I won't be insulted.

ReMark, you've helped me on several occasions! You too RobDraw.

This thing is in every block since the other day and it won't stay docked - it comes up in the middle of the Block Editor screen every time, it's driving me nuts!!

I'm not sure you can do anything about it other than turning it off each time.

Don't dock it. Enable Auto-Hide and set the transparency to 10%. Do it and move on.
