Welcome Garry. Having been "on the board" myself, at one time, I can certainly relate. The jump to CAD, while vexing and perhaps even a little frustrating as it may be, will soon be rewarding with patience and practice. I can't give you much help with scaffolding design but any questions regarding getting started in CAD I'd be more than willing to try and answer. You'll find many knowledgeable and helpful people. Every day I visit this site I learn something new. Who says you can't teach an "old dog" new tricks?

Welcome to the CADTutor forum puddin9999. Could you post one of the smaller (in terms of file size) 3D scaffolding blocks so we can check it out? Thanks.

Welcome Pudding9999,

Any chance you could send me them blocks over? Im a Scaffold Designer myself and have loads of 2D blocks but would love to get my hands on some 3D ones.

I have been playing around with some dynamic blocks too which are handy.

No worries, will send tomorrow, basically I'll send em as drawings if u turn em into blocks they don't use as much space, I've been experimenting with 3d scaffolding blocks and 3d drawings of scaffolds in general, I've found it saves heaps of time particularly when generating elevations etc.

Its the fittings that consume the space but transoms and legders, boards etc arent intensive on the memory, have produced drawings in 3d without the fittings and theyre effective in their own right.

Mate if you send me your 2d blocks I'll see if I can turn em into 3d blocks etc, I've nearly got most tube and fitttings done and nearly all cuplock system scaffold which is great. I want to create a full library next project will be 'kwikstage' and then will move onto some of the system formwork etc.

Cheers
