Hello all,

I am currently trying to export a DWG file into a GIF, I have tried the exporting to a BMP but the words on the drawing ended up as solid shapes..

Any help would be appreciated.. Thanks

You will want to set up a raster format printer using the add-a-plotter wizard. For the size you'll multiply the desired resolution by the dimensions of your image. Search around the forums or go check out the cadtutor tutorials. This subject has been extensively covered.

GIF is not available using the OOTB raster driver. Maybe with a separate 3rd party driver.

Does it *have* to be GIF? Can you use PNG instead?

If so, then RustySilo's suggestion will work. More details here: http://cadpanacea.com/node/41

I'd go with the .png and then if necessary convert to gif afterwards with photoshop, the gimp, etc.

Thank you! I google "dwg to png" and find a converter tool which is DWG2image Converter, i run this programm and select GIF for the output file format, and 300DPI resolution, image looks great and file size is comparable smaller.
