ReMark Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Have all service packs and hotfixs (if applicable) been applied? Quote
kurogane Posted January 1, 2009 Author Posted January 1, 2009 thank you,the service pack not able to applied.. Quote
ReMark Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 You tried to apply the service pack and it failed? If yes, at what point in the process did the process fail? Have you tried the Repair option on your installation DVD? Note: Service Pack 1 addresses several fatal errors. When did the problem first occur? You say it happens when you try to save your files? I recall there was a hotfix for AutoCAD 2009 that addressed issues with opening, closing and saving. Have you been able to save any drawings at all? Quote
kurogane Posted January 2, 2009 Author Posted January 2, 2009 at the point of installing it.i think the service pack got some problem with it,sometimes unable to read the file.any idea where to download service pack & hotfix? the problem first occur,3 weeks after i install it on my pc. i have tried repair option still the same.the error will occur after i save my files. yes im able to save my files. ty. iswanson Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 I have been having a problem with Fatal Error DBX CAS4 for a while now and so far neither AutoCAD nor AUGI forum posts had anything that would help. The most recent post are over a year old so I am wondering if anyone has come up with a new idea to solve the problem? I am working on AutoCAD 2010 LT. I never had this happen when I was on 2004 LT or 2008 LT. It started when got an update from IT for 2009 LT and then 2020 LT. It crops up unexpetedly so I have no clue what triggers this. But once it shows up it keeps showing up till it shuts me down (without saving anything. Very frustrating to say the least. Quote
ReMark Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 You have installed Update 1 for 2010 right? Next time start a new thread. Adding your post to this unrelated thread is not a good idea. Thanks. Quote
iswanson Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Thanks and I am not sure as our IT dept does all the installations (I am on our network) but I will check Quote
ReMark Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 What are you doing or attempting to do when the problem occurs? It just occurred to me that it might not even be AutoCAD related. What are your system specs? Specifically, what are the details on the memory modules installed on your computer? How much RAM is installed? What is the speed of the RAM? Quote
iswanson Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 I try to save my work and most often it happens when I close and then the program asks me if I want to save and usually if I say yes, I get this almost every time. Quote
ReMark Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Have you seen this? Look at the last post. Forget what I said about the RAM above. http://forum.notebookreview.com/windows-os-software/323048-fatal-error-dbx-cas-4-a.html Quote
iswanson Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 according to the control panel I have autoCAD 2010 LT english version 2 Quote
ReMark Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Sounds like you're running a minimal system. That may or may not be a factor. Did you check out the link above? Quote
ReMark Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 From the CADforum: "DBX error-types are reported by the ObjectDBX library. They often come from 3rd party add-on applications, especially from LT applications. Always apply the latest Service Packs for your Autodesk CAD application (and possibly also for the add-on). This error can be also caused by a hardware problem or collision with another running application or driver." What other applications are running in the background? Have you tried running just Windows and AutoCAD LT and nothing else to see if the error occurs? We need to try and isolate the problem. Hardware problems could be memory related. Do you have room to add another DIMM module? Quote
