3Ddesiner1960 Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Having troubles trying to remove hidden lines in a part in assembly. tried right clicking on part. Tried even the component display option. Quote
welldriller Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Is it possible that they are on a different layer? Quote
ReMark Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 Was this what you tried that did not work? If it was then I also came across this at the Solidworks forum. https://forum.solidworks.com/thread/52027 Quote
shift1313 Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 It's hard to tell what happened just by the image. If sketches or things are visible at the part level they propagate to the Assembly level. However at the assembly level you can control the parts/even features of parts display individually. At the top of your feature tree on the right you see >> which opens the display pane. From there you have Hide/Show, Display Mode, Appearances and Transparency. The display mode section lets you control the display style(i.e. shaded, hidden lines visible etc) of each part, body, feature. Make sure to expand the part, bodies and features in question and see if anything is in that column. If not it will take the display mode of the assembly. The other thing that it could be is a graphics issue. I would need to know more about your system, graphics card, current driver for said card, number of parts in the assembly, any display states used etc etc. Quote
3Ddesiner1960 Posted February 24, 2016 Author Posted February 24, 2016 I tried the display style that was not it. I even tried look at the part it self and its hidden in the part but can't hidden it in the assembly, Sides show hidden lines and front and back doesn't. Quote
shift1313 Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 in general blue lines are actually "curves" and not part of hidden lines. If you show hidden lines they won't be on a shaded model, and they will be dashed black lines. Do you have any curve data? Either projected curves, composite curves, helix etc? Its too small for me to tell what it is. You can use the view drop down from the top-center of the modeling window to hide all curves(green squiggly line in 2015 and older). or go to the View menu and deselect "curves". Quote
3Ddesiner1960 Posted February 24, 2016 Author Posted February 24, 2016 The T slotted frame extrusion was downloaded from McMaster Carr. it is the hidden line in the extrusion and for some reason it shows up in two view? I got to looking through menu and on "View> Temporary Axes " was click on and it the hidden line. Thank you for your guys help Quote
shift1313 Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 Ok. Yeah those aren't hidden lines per say. Mcmaster parys seem to have random sketches visible and things like temporary axes shown. Just fyi any cylinder or cylindrical face(ie fillet) will have one. Any time you see something like that and its blue it will be some sort of reference geometry or curve data. If its black or grey it is a sketch. If its dashed then its hidden lines. Quote
