Hi

See attached dwg file.

Both the PD & Switch blocks have slightly different names and I have hundreds of each in my drawings and I want to select them all and delete them.

How can this been done in the filter command?

Thanks

Bob

The Block Name option in the FILTERS dialog allows wildcards

In this example only blocks whose name starts c3 will be selected.

Alternatively, select one. Right click. Select similar.

Thanks very much, I managed to get it working on the switches but not the red PD's.

I love select similar but it doesn't work on these blocks as they all have unique names.

The PD blocks are anonymous (*U), depending on what else is in your drawing that you need to keep, you will probably need some LISP to select them by name, AFAIK.

To use selectsimilar, you need to uncheck Name and whatever else would cause objects you didn't want to delete to be selected, if the main differenc between what is to be deleted and what is to be kept is the name, it will not be much help.

It would be helpful to know what is in the drawing that needs to be kept.

Thanks for the replies, I did most of it using the filter command and the rest was completed manually.
