snosrap Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Hi I am trying to print full size in A1 to my printer designjet 500. (roll type) I have scaled the drawing to 1:1 in paper space, but when I print it out it is slightly out. 18mm is actually 17.4mm. So the longer lengths on the drawing are a long way out. there must be a way that you can adjust so its spot on. any help would be appreciated, as I am pulling me hair out, trying to fine tune the system to get it correct. I use Auto cad LT regards Alan Quote
ReMark Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Post an image of your plot settings. You shouldn't be experiencing any problems if printing a layout at a scale of 1:1 using the Designjet 500. We used a Designjet 500+ for ten years and all out plots made from a layout scaled correctly. It has nothing to do with the version of AutoCAD you are using either. Quote
BIGAL Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Like Remark many times have got out with the steel ruler and checked a plot maybe 820mm = 819.25. Only idea is check factory setting if someone has fiddled can cause this problem there are some scaling parameters but no one would normally change them. Quote
ReMark Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Attach a copy of the drawing to your next post and someone here will take a look at it and quite possibly do a test print to see what actually happens. Quote
eldon Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Have you tried the Plotter Manager, where you can set up the calibration of your printer/plotter. Quote
rkent Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Did you setup a .pc3 with the designjet 500? If not then go into the PLOTTERMANAGER and use the add a plotter wizard, be sure to go through the calibration sequence in there. Then be sure to use the .pc3 for the DJ500 from now on. If you did do that then start PLOTTERMANAGER, double click on the DJ500.pc3, pick the Device and Document Settings tab, find Plotter Calibration in the tree under User-defind Paper Sizes and & Calibration, use the Calibrate Plotter button and continue from there.
