NikNakCadAwack Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Hello world, We are looking for some advise over two issues that have become beyond a joke. Firstly, when we write over a viewport, the text ends up behind it. This wasn't always a problem, starting with one PC and now affects all three. I have conducted a search on here but not found the same issue, (but I may have been a bit fick). Secondly, our text has started appearing vertically when entered, as opposed to horizontally. (we have found a temporary cure in correcting it's alignment, but this isn't good enough). Again, this has happened recently and spread across all 3 PC's. And yes, I can see a pattern here! Our dedicated CAD Technician, reset our formal page layouts recently, but I'm not sure of the timing between these events. He is Polish and some of his programmes run Polish text etc, although I don't see why this should change anything. We are largely self-taught and generally get along quite well with CAD - I'd estimate 10 to 12 years joint experience. Any ideas folks? Quote
rkent Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 The viewport either has shademode to something other than 2D, or I have seen this happen with an image inserted in model space. For the text, your UCS is set to other than World. Turn on the UCSICON so you can always tell at a glance if the UCS is changed. HTH Quote
soleary Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 For the text, it could be one of the fonts picked could be a vertical one. One of the Arial fonts appears like this. I'm not at my machine with AutoCAD right now and can't remember which font it is - but it's worth checking Quote
