Turning object data into text

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have a drawing of all the parcels in the county i'm working in, and each parcel is a block, with object data showing the property information. Is there any way to make that object data show up in each block as text?

I'm trying to find an alternative to manually typing out the info for HUNDREDS of parcels. Thanks!

If you have created parcels in Civil 3d you can go to your parcel(s) in Toolspace > right-click the parcel > Export Analysis and you will get a text output file that would resemble this:

Name: Standard : 1

Point of Beginning : North: 2142769.3756' East: 464760.1385'

Segment #1 : Line

Course: N8° 29' 46.41"W Length: 198.272'

North: 2142965.4717' East: 464730.8449'

Segment #2 : Line

Course: N73° 07' 37.42"E Length: 171.424'

North: 2143015.2275' East: 464894.8889'

Segment #3 : Line

Course: S29° 28' 00.39"E Length: 208.424'

North: 2142833.7654' East: 464997.4163'

Segment #4 : Line

Course: S74° 49' 02.48"W Length: 245.859'

North: 2142769.3756' East: 464760.1385'

--------------------------------------------------

Perimeter: 823.979' Area: 41642.29 Sq. Ft.

If your parcels data blocks are actually AutoCAD blocks then you can run an attribute extraction (see help file) on it to get the data into a text file.

Assuming they are std autocad blocks - can the object data be used to label them (with an attribute I guess)?
