antela28 Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Hello, can anyone help me get lighter shadows on my rendered drawing. the shadows i get are completely black.? Thank you Quote
Cad64 Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Do you have Global Illumination enabled? https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2015/ENU/AutoCAD-Core/files/GUID-F8A234CB-5742-4660-AC41-09287EC5161B-htm.html Quote
tzframpton Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Use soft shadows or Shadow Map. Also you can adjust attenuation on lights themselves. Quote
antela28 Posted April 21, 2016 Author Posted April 21, 2016 Thank you for your replies, but with the above, my shadows are still black Quote
tzframpton Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Post an image showing us the problem please. Thanks! Quote

benhubel Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 I don't know how Autocad deals with lighting, but whenever I see that in other programs it's typically because there is a single parallel (sun) light source and no active global illumination. Does Autocad perhaps have a setting that lets you change the color or the brightness on global illumination? Quote
tzframpton Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Try adjusting the Exposure Settings. Also, the Sun Settings could be tweaked as well. FG and GI must be on, which it already sounds like you've got it. Quote
Cad64 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Enabling Global Illumination should solve that issue with the heavy dark shadows. Are you absolutely sure you have it enabled? Sometimes Autocad disables things when you make changes, like if you switch from High Quality to Presentation. Just make sure to double check that it is in fact enabled. And as Tannar mentioned, enabling Final Gather will also help. Beyond that, you will just have to start tweaking your Advanced Render Settings. Things like Sampling, Ray Tracing, GI and FG photons & rays, etc. Quote
