subodh_gis Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 I working on a Road digitization project. we draw polylines and when the polyline reaches the limit of autocad screen we have to use pan to drag screen and continue draw. so again and again we have to use pan and drag. Is there any way to auto scroll screen when polyline reaches near screen limit. Thanks Quote
Pablo Ferral Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Are you using the pan command, or the mouse button pan? Have you tried typing coordinates? How about zooming out and using OSNAPS to ensure you hit the spot? Quote
eldon Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 Perhaps you could develop another technique using the scroll wheel of the mouse. The zooming is centred on the mouse pointer, so by moving the mouse pointer and zooming in and out, one can move about the drawing in the middle of a command (like drawing a polyline). Nowadays, I generally do not pan. Quote
marko_ribar Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 I had the same problem and I developed few routines for this situations, but then at the end I found out that solution is simple... Just activate 3D shade mode and CAD will allow you to draw and beyond regeneration limits... Further more this issue is built-in solved and in 2D wire frame mode in newest releases of ACAD... Quote

Nicely done Marko, figuring that out about the 3D Shaded visual style being different, in that way! Quote
