CalypsoArt Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 I have been using AC 2012 on a Win 7 machine, but decided to transition to Win 10. My computer is now dual boot with an additional SSD drive hosting Win 10 and a trial version of AC 2017 LT. I've almost got AC configured as I'd like it, but I'm discovering glitches. 1. AC2017 LT takes much longer to SAVE. In AC2012/Win 7, saves are quarter the time. 2. It takes forever to plot to PDF with the Dwg to PDF compared to AC2012/Win7. When it does plot the PDF, it does not display it after completion. "Display in Viewer" in PDF Options is checked. A PDF plot in AC2012/Win7 displays the finished plot in Acrobat. (Which is also installed on the Win 10 Drive) 3. Prints to our HP T2300 come out half size and in the wrong orientation. 4. Often the cursor disappears for moments. Overall, my programs are much faster in Windows 10 with the exception of AC2017 LT. Any ideas/suggestions? My system make is: Windows 10 Pro 64 ASUS Rampage Gene III Intel i7 930 ATI FirePro V5600 Kingston HyperX 12GB Kit (3x4GB Modules) 1600MHz DDR3 DIMM Crucial SSD 250gb Drive WD 1T data drive I posted this on the Autodesk Help forum, but responses seem to have stopped. http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-lt-general-discussion/moving-from-ac2012-win7-to-ac2017-lt-win-10-differences-glicthes/td-p/6462790 Hopefully someone here might have suggestions. The Autodesk Mod recommended resetting 2017 LT to default as I have imported my work space from 2012. Loathe to do that after all my interface configuration work, I installed a 2017 LT trial on my Surface tablet as an additional test. Only the printing problem manifests on this machine. PDFs are generated instantly and display after in Acrobat. However, printing to the T2300 gives the same error as printing from the Win 10 desktop. Both have the recommended HP driver. However, printing the 24x36 PDF from Acrobat is fine so it seems to be an HP/ AC2016 problem. If I can't solve the printing problem then solving other don't matter. I have 16 days left on the trial. After that I revert to my Win7/AC2012 system that works. Answers? Suggestions? Quote
ReMark Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 HP must have a generic driver. Try that and see if your printing problem persists. Personally, I wouldn't bother trying to run ACAD 2012 under Win10. I'd stay with Win7. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Quote
CalypsoArt Posted July 31, 2016 Author Posted July 31, 2016 HP lists 3 drivers. I switch out and see what happens and post results. Also, I'm not trying to run AC2012 on Win 10. I'm testing AC2017 LT on My Win 10 system. It is the same system with Win 7 and Win 10 on separate drives set up with dual boot. My Win7/AC2012 works fine and currently is my main work system. However, both the software and OS are ageing out for my work situation. Quote
CalypsoArt Posted August 1, 2016 Author Posted August 1, 2016 I switched out the drivers and tried all versions. No go. The problem persists. This is 2 different machines with the same problem. I'm beginning to believe it'a a AC2017 LT problem and not Windows 10 or the printer. PDFs generated for AC2017 print fine. Quote
