liquid-blue22 Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 Hi Guys, I have another one that I have been playing with for a while with no real luck; Basically i have lots of contour lines (open not closed) that I would like to turn into a surface (i.e. a surface between the lines; 20.0m to 21.0m at what ever angle cad wants to interpolate to) but I am not having much luck. I thought my best bet would be to manually close them and use the edgesurf command but that has also failed me. A screenshot of some of the lines is attached; Any ideas on this one Quote
ReMark Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 Judging by all the spikes, dips, waves, etc. in the contour lines I could see AutoCAD basically locking up as it attempts to create a surface between two adjacent contours. Quote
liquid-blue22 Posted September 28, 2016 Author Posted September 28, 2016 That is very true, I could create an averaged line for each contour to reduce the complexity for a CAD surface? Quote
ReMark Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 It's your drawing so you can do whatever you want. You might try the LOFT command between two adjacent lines and see where that gets you but don't do it on the contours the way they are now unless you like using the three finger salute CTRL-ALT-DEL. eldon Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 Before doing anything else, I would like to see the original data that gave rise to such contours. They look unrealistic to me. Quote
