Florescent Lighting in AutoCAD 2008????

Anyone know how to re-create a Florescent type of lighting? I'm having to model our lobby area in 3D for future changes, and I would like to get the rendered scene as realistic as possible. Thanks....

Ah that definitely helps. That'll get me started for now, but I definitely will have questions later to really help the render along.

Thanks Gypsy!! :)

NP, glad I could help. It's not often I get to contribute to this portion of the forums, as I'm still learning alot myself.

Okay well here's the base lobby area:

And here is the actual photo of the back wall of the lobby/foyer:

I think its coming along well. I'm still in the beginning stages of modeling so its far from getting all the materials, etc.

I also want to add some realistic lighting from outdoors. like, simulate sunlight, coming in through the storefront. When I get a little more done I'll be glad to upload the CAD file itself for anyone who would like to help. The boss is impressed with it so far.... :)

And thanks to all for the help, I'll be back on the file tomorrow. I got slammed with actual "work" today. haha

Do you have any idea how hard it would be for me to keep from yelling out "GO TEAM VENTURE!" (slim chance NSFW, keep sound off) after any personal triumph?

Hey styk,

The pics you showed are similar to what i do on a daily basis in work within another software programme.

How accurate are the outputs in terms of lighting or is the exercise purely aesthetics only?

well the lights are definitely not what it looks like in real life, I just threw some temporary lighting for the render only. Aesthetically, it is not good at all to me.
