tzframpton Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 Anyone know how to re-create a Florescent type of lighting? I'm having to model our lobby area in 3D for future changes, and I would like to get the rendered scene as realistic as possible. Thanks.... Quote
GypsyQueen Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 I don't have 2008 to work with, but maybe this will help? http://www.dailyautocad.com/render/autocad-2008-render-photometric-lights-2/ Quote
tzframpton Posted January 9, 2009 Author Posted January 9, 2009 Ah that definitely helps. That'll get me started for now, but I definitely will have questions later to really help the render along. Thanks Gypsy!! Quote

Thanks Gypsy!! NP, glad I could help. It's not often I get to contribute to this portion of the forums, as I'm still learning alot myself. Quote
Hedgehog Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 ... & some of this might be useful if the tubes are to be in the view... http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8590&highlight=bump+map Quote
Noahma Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 If you are looking for the fixtures themselves, Autodesk Seek has quite a few on there http://seek.autodesk.com/#query=search%5Enew%5Equery%3D%3Bcategory%3Dstd%3Aoc1.15.8%3BsortKey%3D%3BsortDir%3Dasc%3BstartAt%3D0%3BmaxResults%3D20%3BviewMode%3D0%3Bsource%3DQuickLinks Quote
tzframpton Posted January 12, 2009 Author Posted January 12, 2009 Okay well here's the base lobby area: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3305/3191883807_c8e596fa55_o.jpg And here is the actual photo of the back wall of the lobby/foyer: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3425/3191899379_b9d2e5d855_o.jpg I think its coming along well. I'm still in the beginning stages of modeling so its far from getting all the materials, etc. I also want to add some realistic lighting from outdoors. like, simulate sunlight, coming in through the storefront. When I get a little more done I'll be glad to upload the CAD file itself for anyone who would like to help. The boss is impressed with it so far.... And thanks to all for the help, I'll be back on the file tomorrow. I got slammed with actual "work" today. haha Quote
MaxwellEdison Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Do you have any idea how hard it would be for me to keep from yelling out "GO TEAM VENTURE!" (slim chance NSFW, keep sound off) after any personal triumph? Quote
Thomas_glasgow Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Hey styk, The pics you showed are similar to what i do on a daily basis in work within another software programme. How accurate are the outputs in terms of lighting or is the exercise purely aesthetics only? Quote
tzframpton Posted January 16, 2009 Author Posted January 16, 2009 well the lights are definitely not what it looks like in real life, I just threw some temporary lighting for the render only. Aesthetically, it is not good at all to me. Quote
