kippax Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 I have a dwg with a vaild password, so I can open the file. However I want to save the file with the protection removed. Found these instructions on how to do this ..... To remove a password from a drawing Click Tools menu Options. At the command prompt, enter options. In the Options dialog box, Open and Save tab, click Security Options. In the Security Options dialog box, Password tab, clear the Password or Phrase to Open This Drawing option. Click OK. ---------------------------------------------------- Unfortunately there is no password tab in the Security Options dialogue box, so I am a little bit stuck. Any ideas ? Quote
RobDraw Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 Can you copy/paste from it once you get in? Quote
Dadgad Posted November 25, 2016 Posted November 25, 2016 (edited) If Rob's suggestion doesn't work, try to WBLOCK it, or SAVEAS a .dxf file, or to a much earlier .dwg file type which might predate the password protection feature? Edited November 25, 2016 by Dadgad Quote
kippax Posted November 25, 2016 Author Posted November 25, 2016 Saved as dxf .... cheers people Quote
Dadgad Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 I believe that once you have done that, you can resave your .dxf, as a .dwg file, then I suspect you will be good to go. Glad that worked for you. Quote
