3D objects hidden in model space AutoCad MEP

Revisiting a drawing from a few months back, and I found all the piping to be stale (broken) and all 3d objects hidden from view.

 

When selected, the 3d objects are visible but once moved they disappear again. Also I am not able to draw any pipe in the model space.

 

I've Xref'ed in some architectural pdf's which could be the source of the issue. Any ideas or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Without access to everything you have it would be difficult to pinpoint the exact cause of the problem.
