MuhendisAus Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Hi All, My apologies if this is the wrong place to ask I wasn't exactly sure. I would like to generate random circles of a specific diameter, with a key emphasis on random, that are not overlapping or touch within a boundary. In my current case I have a section that is 20mm x 500mm (rectangular) and inside of it I want to draw 4mm diameter circles that are completely randomly placed until the whole area is saturated by these circles without them touching. Is this something that can be programmed ? If not I had better start manually . Thanks! Quote
Hippe013 Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 It is possible. I believe I've even come across a lisp of this sort. Here is a link to get you started! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circle_packing Quote
