hi all

I use autocad 2016, in a previous drawing a couple of days ago I was able to see thethe angle of a line in the properties ... now it's not there... how do I see it? ( in properties i mean )

Can you confirm the object you have selected is a line, not a polyline? different objects show different properties. sometimes object properties are hidden and need to be expanded, most likely what you are looking for is the geometry grouping. can you post a screenshot of the properties palette you are currently looking at?

got it thanks, i was looking at the properties of a polyline indeed... I drew a line and i was able to see the length and angle, under geometry... but i wonder why i can't view these in a polyline?!

Polylines just don't display those properties, unlike lines.

You could explode a polyline, which will turn it into a line, then those properties will be displayed.

Seems rather counter productive though, to do it that way. :|

Have a look at www.lee-mac.com for his pline details lisp

BIGAL, I just checked Lee's site, as I was shocked to think that I might have missed that one, but while there are lots of very interesting and useful ones, none of them gives the ANGLE, unless I missed something. :)

Thanks Lee!

Thanks Dadgad I have ran it a couple of times did not realise it does not give angles, I may have seen a lisp on AUGI that dims plines including angles. Cat3appr google dimensioning plines.

It's not that they don't show those properties it's that the polyline can have multiple segments, even if it is only drawn as a single segment the program can't differentiate between segments in a polyline to show the properties of any portion (it can't show everything at once) you could try to list the polyline and see if that gives the data for each segment.

Nicely explained, makes perfect sense, when said that way!
