andar424 Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 Hey everyone! Is there a way to use an ordinate set dimension and have it grab a tangent edge? I have a drawing that I want to dimension the overall height, but the highest point is on a radius/fillet. I can just add another dimension above it, but didn't know if that was a limitation of ordinate set or not, because I'd like to keep it clean and with the set if possible. Thanks! Quote
gbradley Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 You can drag one of the dimensions up there once it's created, but I don't know if that helps. Quote
kpyoung333 Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 In your .idw go to Sketch > Start Sketch > then Project Geometry of the arc, draw a line and make the line Tangent to the arc. Finish Sketch. You should be able to select it for ordinate dimensioning. You can then go back into the sketch and make the line Sketch Only and it will disappear leaving your dimension. Quote
