alif Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Hi guys. Let's say i combined a 3D solid sphere with a cubic rectangular partially and use the union tool to make it into one object. What if i want to separate the 2 solids again. How do i do it?? I've tried slicing it but it only works for simple planar objects. Hope somebody can help me with this. Thanks Quote
Pocket Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 UNDO or redraw them The overlapped part of each solid is lost when you union similar to how portions are deleted when you subtract/fillet Quote
boyo Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 you can use interfere command to find where they intersect and extract the intersection. i am not sure if you can seperate them this way. record history is another option to explore via properties Quote
JD Mather Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 I've tried slicing it but it only works for simple planar objects. Slice (with surface option) can be used to create the most complex geometry possible in AutoCAD. (see tutorial link in my signature) Solidedit with Separate might also be an option, but without the file... Quote
